Ata Cycles in Cambridge

Paul and I had an amazing shopping experience a couple of days ago. We were out and about shopping for road bikes during our lunch break for the upcoming Pan Mass Challenge. We ended up going to 2 stores, one that I won’t mention here as the shop owner was a total wheeler dealer and Ata Cycles in Cambridge.

Unlike most bike shops, Ata Cycles was very clean and sparsely populated with few neatly alligned good looking bikes like Giant and Lightspeed. We were greeted by a young sales person barely in his early twenties, who introduced himself as Jason (I think) and asked how he could be of help. We told him we were there to test Giant road bikes, his response was quite surprising: He asked if we had 10 to 15 minutes to be ‘fitted’ properly so that we have the best testing experience. Mind you this is a process that other bike shops charge anywhere from $50 to a $100 after you buy a bike from them. The next 15 minutes Jason measured both Paul and I, then proceeded to feed the data to his computer and put together a brand new bike for each of us to test. We both had the pleasure of riding a Giant TCR Composite C2, an awesome bike fitted perfectly for our bodies!

I liked the bike better than Paul - he likes the Cannondale Synapse Carbon and not sure if I want to get that sophisticated a bike but one thing is for sure, the service at this shop was superb, significantly better than all the bike shops I have visited in MA, 10 in all. I will try to buy my bike there and will recommend it to anyone I know.
